FRIDAY 2-11-2007:

We left home at about 10.00 H. to go to the hotel to install everything, and check into the hotel ourselves...
We looked at many hotels in the area, but it turned out that the one just around the corner
was the best deal and cheapest option...
Big thank you to our friend Ottokar for taking many of the photo`s.

People arriving during the day.

Quickly eating something and Sandra`s mom phoned if she could do anything to help. (from Amsterdam...)
Simon made this very nice Eurocon playable Demo

Already trading...
The youngest attendee, Eleanor :-)
Sudoku for the NES, only 100 made, nice item
for the collectors!

Something to eat & drink in the hotelbar.
In the evening we planned a quiz. I thought
it was too easy, but that turned out not to be the case!
(when I was making it, it looked so simple...)
But Mat -who else- still had the highest score with
22 out of 35 questions correct.

Below you can download the quiz, you need Powerpoint to play it.

Before you start: Download here the sounds and unzip them.
Powerpoint needs them in C:\quiz\
these files are not imbedded in the presentation.....

Start here the powerpoint Eurocon2007 quiz file.
Start
here the powerpoint file with answers to the quiz.

After everyone arrived, we all went to our house, a 15 minute walk from the hotel.
Here we played on our arcades & snookertable and
everyone could see Sijmen`s overstuffed room, while
the Atari jukebox played. (next 2 photo`s taken from Steve)

SATURDAY 3-11-2007:

At 11.00 H. the fair started. We did some advertising on auctionsites, and we send a press-letter
to some lokal newspapers, hoping they would print it.
But we didn`t expect this: Even a trip-tip in the regional newspaper (we didn`t write to!)
No wonder it was so crowded all day...

Ooh, look what I bought...
After the fair, it was time for some more games
and then 'show and tell'
Travi the Globe Trotter. (7800 cart)
Has traveled all over the world, and now it was in the Netherlands with us...
...and going to Marc Oberhäuser in Germany.
Simon Quernhorst about the Eurocon demo, Rendering Ranger for the Snes and Zero Tolerance for Sega.
Martijn about his Vectrex releases Jon had some rare MSX games
Kids Records on DVD from Jens
Vectrex proto`s from Mat

In the evening we planned 'Glow in the dark bowling' with flashing light and (loud) music,
which was much fun!
And of course a drink after that!
SUNDAY 4-11-2007:

Time for the sunday competitions: Raving Rabbids Wii (draw the food) and Buzz Jungle Party PS2.
Sijmen won the Raving Rabbids game and Jens the Buzz game.
Also the weekend competitions were final this day: Jaguar Super Burnout, won by Sijmen and
Tetris Arcade won by Dirk Pelzer. (who now has the trophy for a year)

And then it was time for the famous Eurocon Auction!
As there were so many people, the auction had a lot of items too.
Hakan did all the presentation, thanks!

Two very rare items: Joust Evolution for the Vectrex,
the only two copies. (one sandfilled and one playable)
Final bid was by Mat:  1025,00 euro !!
This auction was for a charity and it`s all going to a good
cause: Starlight, see below.
The bidding went mad, between Pepijn and Mat again...
Mat`s final bid and Pepijn giving in...

A bit about Starlight: among the things they do, they provide videoconsoles and games
to children in hospital to play with.
Jon came with this charity and we all think it`s an appropriate cause!
Jens won the Buzz game
Dirk the trophy for the Tetris arcade game
Mat won the quiz
Chris and Lenno do next year`s Eurocon in Karlsruhe.
We are looking forward to that!!
Eleanor liked Mario so very much that he is now
In England living with the family!
Zoom...
What was that.
That was Eurocon.
Can I have another one?
Nope, sorry mate, you have to wait a whole year!

Thanks everyone for a fantastic weekend!
